When Shawn Christman founded Seattle Stair & Design in 1978, he began a thirty year journey to uncover the secrets of a lost art. This journey would lead him around the world, from Manhattan to the great cathedrals of France and ultimately back to Seattle again.
Now, through our pioneering alliance with the Compagnons, the thousand-year-old guild of elite woodworkers who built the great cathedrals and chateaux of France, we bring our clients the benefits of old world craftsmanship and modern techniques.
